PSA Nitrogen Generator for Packaging Heat Treatment in China

Packaging Heat-Treatment Nitrogen System Configuration

A PSA nitrogen generator produces nitrogen on site for processes such as packaging heat-treatment furnaces. The KFD59-85 system is configured to deliver 85 Nm³/h of nitrogen at ≥99.995% purity and an adjustable pressure of 0–0.6 MPa.

Huatai supplied this fixed indoor system to Sichuan Yibin Plas Packaging Materials Co., Ltd. for a new packaging production line. Siemens PLC control supports automated, continuous operation. According to available project records, the system has operated for more than seven years.

Huatai configures nitrogen generation systems around the required purity, flow, pressure, operating schedule and installation conditions. Contact us to discuss your packaging heat-treatment project.

Nitrogen Requirement for the New Packaging Line

Sichuan Yibin Plas Packaging Materials Co., Ltd. required an on-site nitrogen supply system for the heat-treatment furnace on a new packaging production line. As no nitrogen source was available for the new line, the system needed to generate nitrogen on site and maintain a continuous supply during production.

The system configuration was based on three confirmed operating requirements: nitrogen purity of ≥99.995%, a flow rate of 85 Nm³/h and an adjustable delivery pressure of 0–0.6 MPa.

Project Requirements

    • On-site nitrogen generation for a new production line
    • Nitrogen supply for a packaging heat-treatment furnace
    • Continuous operation
    • Nitrogen purity: ≥99.995%
    • Nitrogen flow: 85 Nm³/h
    • Delivery pressure: 0–0.6 MPa

Huatai develops nitrogen solutions for packaging production according to the actual process, required nitrogen purity, flow rate, pressure and operating schedule.

Why the KFD59-85 Was Selected

The KFD59-85 PSA nitrogen generator was selected around the required nitrogen flow, purity, delivery pressure and continuous operating schedule.. The system needed to deliver 85 Nm³/h while maintaining the required nitrogen purity, delivery pressure and continuous operating schedule.
Nitrogen generator selection should not be based on nominal flow alone. The available flow at the specified purity, required outlet pressure, operating schedule and installation conditions must be evaluated together to determine the appropriate system configuration.
Customer Requirement Project Configuration
Nitrogen Application Packaging Heat-Treatment Furnace
Required Purity ≥99.995%
Required Flow 85 Nm³/h
Delivery Pressure 0–0.6 MPa
Operating Schedule Continuous
Installation Type Fixed Indoor Installation

Complete Nitrogen Generation System

Huatai configured a complete on-site nitrogen generation system covering compressed-air storage, air purification, nitrogen separation, nitrogen buffering and automatic control. The equipment was installed as a fixed system in the customer’s indoor equipment room.

System Configuration

    • Air receiver tank
    • Four-stage filtration system
    • Refrigerated air dryer
    • Oil removal unit
    • KFD59-85 nitrogen generator
    • Nitrogen buffer tank
    • Siemens PLC control system

Process Flow

Compressed Air → Air Receiver Tank → Four-Stage Filtration → Refrigerated Air Dryer → Oil Removal → KFD59-85 Nitrogen Generator → Nitrogen Buffer Tank → Heat-Treatment Furnace

Automatic Control

The Siemens PLC manages the programmed operating sequence and valve switching during normal operation. The nitrogen generator runs automatically according to the configured control logic. Routine inspection and scheduled maintenance remain part of the customer’s operating procedures.

Key System Features

        • Automatic PLC Control — Manages the programmed operating sequence and valve switching.
        • Continuous Nitrogen Supply — Configured around the production line’s continuous nitrogen demand.
        • Accessible Routine Maintenance — System components are arranged for routine inspection and maintenance.

Huatai configures complete Gas Generation Solutions covering air treatment, gas separation, buffering and control according to project requirements.

Indoor Installation and Engineering Service

The nitrogen generation system was installed in a dedicated indoor equipment room at the customer’s production site. The fixed layout integrates the air-treatment equipment, KFD59-85 nitrogen generator, nitrogen buffer tank and control section within one operating area.

The installation arrangement provides access to the pipelines, valves, control cabinet, filters and other service points required for routine inspection and maintenance.

Huatai engineers have also performed on-site service work for the installed system. Available project images document the equipment condition and engineering service activities inside the customer’s equipment room.
